Finding friends with open arms in unknown society

It was sunny afternoon of 14th of May when I enter the capital Libreville, wondering where to buy an internet card and calling card which is my first priority on every new country, I entered an Airtel shop. While returning, I was so mesmerized to find a beautifully written letter from mr. Daniel on the carrier of my cycle at the parking. I called the number in it and found him, it was a bit of trouble during our conversation on phone because I didn’t speak French well and Daniel did not speak English well, anyhow we managed to understand each other for meeting the next day on the same place where I had parked my bicycle.

On 15th I met Mr. Daniel after couple of chit-chatting we headed towards ambassador’s office for my visa but due to limited cash on my pocket I cannot manage required money however for the fee. It was the greatest joy that Daniel trusted me and let me burrow some cash from him to complete the visa work. The next day we visited different national TV and media houses.

Mr. Daniel a French man with a charming personality, father of 3 daughters and husband of the beautiful lady working on French army, I find myself so much gifted by the god of destiny and coincidence because it seems I was bound to have dinner with whom I could admire with all my very best wishes.

We represent different part of the globe, that’s why we got some teething troubles on our conversation. As human beings are social animals, people have the instinct to communicate with others, to share our feelings and thoughts, and as a result language problem doesn’t count that much during my stay. The same instinct helped us to understand each other.

Stephane Demmare brought a lot of joy of cycling with him for me. He is also a cyclist and he helped me make my Gabon days, filled with the spirit of cycling. I am really grateful for him that he helped me get a chance to attend in an awesome race. The race was on 19th of may and it was organized by cyclist association where I was invited. Though I could not attend the whole race, But I was really delighted to meet different people, know their splendid cycling experience and share some of my experiences.

Towards the end of my stay in Libreville, we were schedule to leave Libreville early in the morning. Stephane accompanied me. We left capital of Gabon at 7:40 in the morning. For a cyclist leg is our second heart and cycle is our second pair of legs So, before leaving I repair my cycle but it did not became good as I expected, So I was bit stiffed; Yet, the journey was inevitable.

Then with a great enthusiastic metabolism we started to walk with our second pair of legs. The thing that frequently amazed me during my stay In the Libreville is the traffic here, with the population not more than 1 million but when we see the traffic of Libreville it seems like 5 million people live in the capital. The main and only bad thing about travelling here would be if there are a lot of people, the roads get crowded. Among many others, one of the good part about Libreville is-it is a cool place with friendly people. Then after travelling 40 ilometer we reached a place called Ntoun from where I need to pedal alone because Stphane had to return.

I owe Mr. Daniel and Stphane a great debt of gratitude for supporting morally and physically, though it’s for limited time I will be always happy to meet such a meticulous person. With the target to reach Kango River at the distance of 57 km I was on a regular schedule with my cycle and the stuff weigh 95 kg on my carrier.
